I came to the sixth chapter where the Apostles pressed by the administrative needs of the church appointed deacons to help them. Acts 6: 2 says, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.” They then chose seven men that became the first deacons who then met this need. Verse four states that they, “will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.” The result of this wise decision is found in verse seven that says, “So the word of God spread.”
