IMG_0962Let’s change the conversation in the church when it comes to talking about money!  One major negative thing the Contemporary Church Movement inserted into the Church is the belief that talking about money drives people away.  If that is so why do people give to the Red Cross when all they talk about is money?

If you want your church to be fully funded you need to stop apologizing for taking up the offering.  Change the conversation!  Instead of telling people they should give, they know that already, make them WANT to give.  You do this by making some fundamental changes.  Here are the top things on my list…

Get over YOUR fear of talking about money and giving.  Jesus talked more about money and possession than any other one topic.  If our Lord and Master preached on giving why would we not?

Stop worrying about attracting a crowd and start making disciples.  We have become overly conscious of guests feelings rather than simply having church.  A part of being a disciple is learning the joy and value of generosity.  If you fail to talk about money and giving you are raising up inferior Christians whose impact in the world will be minimal.

Show people how their gift matters.  We call that connecting the dots.  We want to focus in upon what your church does with the offering.  Talk about all the amazing things you do for the Kingdom.  Make people WANT to give!

It is not that the Church talks too much about money.  It is that when we do we often do so in a manner that turns people off.

So, let’s change the conversation in your church to begin your path towards being fully funded.
